If you’re traveling around Nicoll Highway, National Stadium, Beach Road, Marina Boulevard, or the Central Business District (CBD) from November 29 to December 1, be prepared for road closures due to the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon (SCSM).

Race organizers, Ironman Group, have announced road closures and transport adjustments for the event. Key areas, including Nicoll Highway, National Stadium, Beach Road, Marina Boulevard, and parts of the CBD, will be inaccessible to the public.

Some buildings along Temasek Avenue, Beach Road, and near Nicoll Highway MRT will also be designated no-access zones, restricting vehicular entry, pick-ups, and drop-offs.

SBS Transit has also announced that 27 bus services will be impacted by road closures on November 30 and December 1.

On November 30, from the start of bus operations until 11:45am, services 10, 11, 14, 16/16M, 31, 32, 33, 56, 57, 70, 100, 107, 111, 130, 131, 133, 158, 195, and 196 will be diverted and will skip bus stops along Bayfront Avenue, Beach Road, Nicoll Highway, and areas within the Civic District, CBD, and Marina Central.

On December 1, from the start of bus operations until 3pm, services 10, 11, 14, 16, 30, 31, 32, 33, 48, 57, 70M, 80, 100, 107M, 111, 121, 130, 131, 133, 145, 158, 186, 195, 196, 400, and 401 will similarly be affected.

The three-day event begins with the Kids Dash on November 29, followed by the 5km and 10km runs on November 30. On December 1, the half-marathon and marathon races will take place, alongside the return of the Ekiden relay since 2021.

This year’s marathon will feature a new finish line at Anderson Bridge, instead of the National Stadium, as the venue is booked for the Asean Mitsubishi Electric Cup from December 8 to January 5.

Jeff Edwards, Managing Director of Asia at Ironman Group, emphasized that the new routes have been carefully planned in collaboration with key partners to ensure a memorable race experience for participants and spectators. He added, “Safety is a top priority, and we look forward to welcoming participants from around the world to celebrate both the excitement of a world-class race and the beauty of Singapore.”
